Sample Specification

All chill and heating hot water valves must be insulated with a factory fabricated removable/reusable valve cover.  Cover must be fabricated of 1" close cell elastomeric insulation, complete with Velcro closures as manufactured by Corick, Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Applications

Corick Removable/Reusable Insulation Valve Covers are specially designed for use on Chill Water, Heating Hot Water, and Domestic Water valves and equipment.  When properly installed Corick Removable/Reusable Insulation Valve Covers effectively retard heat gain, and prevent condensation or frost formation on cold equipment.  They also effectively retard heat loss when used on hot equipment.

Moisture Resistance

Corick Removable/Reusable Insulation Valve Covers closed cell structure is in it's self a vapor barrier, but under continuous conditions of high humidity (tropical conditions) additional vapor barrier protection is recommended.

Appearance

Corick Removable/Reusable Insulation Valve Covers smooth surface forms a neat finished.  No jacketing is needed on most indoor installations, but jacketing is required for weather protection outdoors.

Flame and Smoke Ratings

Elastomeric thermal insulations in 1/2" and 1" thickness
Flame Spread - 25 or less
Smoke Density - 50 or less
As tested by ASTM 84 Method of Testing entitled: "Surface Burning Characteristics of Building Materials."  This 25 foot Steiner Tunnel test is a measure of a material's surface flammability and smoke evolution while burning.  These ratings alone do not define the hazards presented by the materials under actual fire conditions.
